Welcome! + WA Museum Collaboration

Embossed Printed Lapel Badges - Sheridan's Badges and Engraving

WELCOME!

Welcome to our first-ever blog! At Sheridan’s Badges and Engraving, we’re excited to share more about what we do, how we do it, and our rich history and heritage as part of the fabric of Perth and Western Australia. We’ll also be covering topics that we’re passionate about, such as describing the engraving process, showcases of some great examples of our craft, and much more.

PART OF WA HISTORY

We’d like to get the ball rolling with something that we’re particularly proud of – working with WA Museum to help curate the history of our state. As one of WA’s longest-running family businesses, we have over a century of experience in making beautiful, high-quality name badges and lapel pins. Of course, this is a testament to the commitment and great service that we’ve been providing since the family patriarch Charles Sheridan set up shop in West Perth in 1913. However it’s also given us the opportunity to work with countless organisations in Perth and throughout Western Australia to create name badges, lapel pins, trophies and much more – carefully crafted items that tell the story of who they are, and offer insight into their time and place.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

From schools to sporting clubs, industry to charities and community associations, hospitals to even military, we’ve lovingly created many bespoke name badges for Western Australian customers, with knowledge and commitment passed down through the generations of the Sheridan family. Over the last 106 years, this has led to a collection of significant historical and cultural value, and WA Museum quite agrees – so we’ve donated several hundred items to become part of their collection.

These items include Second World War name badges, local sporting club lapel pins, school badges, old government insignia, and name badges for small groups – even long-gone nightclubs! Together, these tell the story of the evolution of our state over a century, which we’ve shared lovingly with our family and we’re excited to share with yours.

BADGE OF HONOUR

WA Museum has profiled us, which is of course a great honour for our business – you can find their comprehensive article about Sheridans Badges and Engravings on their website here. (We’re sure Charles would be very proud!) Check out the Online Collection – Sheridan’s Collection for more examples of Sheridan’s items that are now part of the Museum’s collection.

For more examples of our beautiful name badges, lapel pins, embossed & embroidered badges and more, keep an eye on our blog as we continue to showcase our commitment to our craft. In the meanwhile, check out the pictures below to view some of the items we’ve donated to WA Museum to form a piece of Perth & WA history.

Watch this space – next month, we’ll be showing off some of the gorgeous personalised keyrings we’ve created!
