Why Name Badges are Great for Hospitality Businesses

Name Badges on Hospitality Staff

The hospitality industry is very competitive, and customer experience is your number one tool to stand out from the pack: from the quality of the food, to the ambience of your décor, the commitment to service of your people, your brand or reputation, and the way you make your customers feel.

One often overlooked but very impactful way of positioning your hospitality business as being professional and dedicated is the use of name badges for your staff. Name badges send a signal that you’re devoted to your staff, that they’re devoted to the your business, that everyone is  dedicated to customer satisfaction, and intend to be around for a long time.

They are a perfect way for people unfamiliar with your business to identify staff members and clarify their role. The name badge offers a more personal and reassuring experience for customers when connecting with your staff by building rapport and making customers feel more at ease and calm. An instant connection is created.

Name badges aren’t just about identifying who you are to your customers, they also demonstrate your staff are proud to work here and are valued and permanent members of your business or organisation.

At Sheridan’s Badges and Engraving, we’ve been making name badges for over a century, since family patriarch Charles Sheridan first set up a workshop behind his Florence Street residence in West Perth way back in 1913. We’ve made all manner of badges for businesses, clubs, associations, government, and even the Australian military in WW1. By the 1920s, we were already the largest badge maker in Western Australia – and we still put the same commitment and love into our work now as we’ve done for generations!

You’ll find our work on badges across Perth, Western Australia and nationwide, and even in the WA Museum collection. We’re proud to be a part of WA history and community.
